splenid story!
Very well paced story, intriguing start, nice dialogue, satisfying ending.
Conveys superbly the feel of a small US town.
I would like to read a full scale novel by you - move over, Frederick Forsyth!
My only disappointment - I was hoping for a massive gun fight, and lots of sex......(but not all together)

well-laid plans
a veteran with special skills infiltrates a town in California, establishes his credibility and then carries out a well-laid plan...good plot and written with realism and authenticity

Fear
I liked this - is it a special style of poetry like Haiku? It seemed to have a pre-determined pattern. It worked well, even if unintended. I think the short sentences added to the feeling of fear and the inability to form sentences in that state.

full of feeling
short poem but full of being scared and clever visual symmetry in the lines making up the poem

I don't know what you mean by "refreshed". I had a little trouble figuring this Warbler thing out. It took me five tries to realize there was a word limit for each entry. Sorry.
